The Freedom Chair A08L Electric Wheelchair is based on the A08 model but has two significant differences being the size of the rear drive wheels and the size of the motors that drive them.

With 12" pneumatic rear wheels the A08L is capable of handling bigger challenges outside and will cope with less smooth conditions with ease. The 12" rear wheels are driven by two 300 watt motors that generate sufficient power to keep things moving at speeds up to 4mph or 6.5 kmh and a range up to 27 miles or 45 kms when 3 batteries are selected. The A08L also has coil springs on each wheel that help to absorb any lumps and bumps that you encounter along the way. It also comes with enlarged front castors that are 8" in diameter.

A highly manoeuvrable folding powerchair

The main features of this electric wheelchair are its relatively lightweight design and its compact form when folded which make it an excellent choice for users who travel frequently. Once folded the A08L powerchair can be wheeled along using the back rest as a handle. The A08L comes with anti tip wheels which give stability and extra reassurance when on an incline and a bag for storage.

With an easy to use joystick control, that has a USB port for charging a mobile phone, the A08L powerchair really is a very capable model that will suit the larger user up to 25 stone or 160kgs in weight and has electromagnetic braking to make for easy slowing and stopping.

For some powerchair users it may be suitable to have attendant control which allows a carer to control the powerchair. This control kit is an optional extra and can be attached to either push handle and allows the attendant to control the speed of the powerchair. When not required it can easily be switched off and the control is handed back to the user.
