The Freedom Chair A06 electric wheelchair is one of the lightest folding powerchairs on the market today and is made by a company who are originators in folding powered chairs and lead with their design and innovation.

This folding powerchair is a favourite with those who travel frequently thanks to its simple and quick folding mechanism which allows the powerchair to be folded with ease in seconds. Once folded it occupies a minute 0.13 cubic meters of space, making it approved by airlines worldwide.

A comfy powerchair with a long range

The Freedom chair is powered by two brushless 200 watt electric motors and a choice of either one or two batteries. The standard range with one battery is 9 miles however 18 miles can be achieved by adding a second battery. The brushless motors are maintenance free and provide both power but also very smooth electromagnetic braking. The powerchair suits users up to 17 stone in weight or 110kgs. The A08 model will support users up to 110kgs or 17 stone in weight.

The powerchair is comfortable thanks to its padded seat and the shock absorbers. With great maneuverability and simple controls this powerchair is well suited to operation both inside and outside.

The optional attendant control kit can be fitted with ease and allows a carer to operate the drive of the powerchair when walking behind. This kit simply plugs into the charging port of the new style main joystick and includes a very useful pair of rearward facing handles for the carer to hold. The thumb stick controller can be installed on either the right or left handle and is adjustable in 3 height positions. When the thumb stick is turned on the front joystick becomes inoperable. Repeated short presses of the control button steps through the chair’s speed setting allowing the carer to choose a suitable walking pace. Turning off the controller with a long press restores control back to the user's joystick.
