The sleek looking Excel 9.9 transit wheelchair is a new model from quality manufacturers Van Os Medical. Made with a strong double cross braced aluminium frame, this folding wheelchair weighs in at just 9.9kg making it a very lightweight wheelchair.
Designed for users who weigh up to 100kgs or 15 stone in weight, the Excel 9.9 is described by Van Os as a travel wheelchair. It is incredibly compact once folded and packs away to a small form making it ideal for stowing in vehicles or on an aircraft. This wheelchair comes in an 18" seat width.
A super lightweight crash tested transit wheelchair
Features include attendant brakes, which allow the carer to slow and control the chair with ease, and push handles that are height adjustable. The seating system includes a tensionable backrest with a curved design that provides optimal lumber support whilst preventing slippage down the seat. The armrests are also height adjustable for comfort and support.
When it comes to storing or stowing the wheelchair, the flip up footrests can also be removed and the backrest folded down. Once folded, the wheelchair is just 59cm or 12" wide.
